COALITION GOVERNMENT

Sa umiiral na multiparty system sa Pilipinas, one party rarely wins enough seats in the legislature to form a government.

Consequently, two or more parties join forces and form a coalition government to direct the nation's affairs, tulad nga ng pagkakapanalo ngayon ng senatorial bets ng Team Pinoy.

But often, the coalition parties fail to agree on policies and programs, and so the government falls.

The multiparty system thus tends to produce a less stable government than does the two-party system.

ANA: "Hindi ba magkakasama sa Team Pinoy coalition sina senators-elect Bam, Aquino, Coco Pimentel at Antonio Trillanes IV? Bakit kaya si Bam Aquino lang ang dumating sa proklamasyon ng tatlo kagabi, noh?"

LISA: "Eh pa'no kasi, kahit na magkakasama sila sa Team Pinoy coalition, eh magkakaiba naman ang kanilang political party. Si Trillanes eh NP, si Pimentel PDP-Laban at si Bam Aquino eh nanungkulan sa gobyernong GMA."

CION: "Ang multiparty system 'gaya ng sa Pinas eh karaniwan merong 4 o higit pang political parties. Ito'y kinabibilangan ng major parties tulad ng LP at NP. Bukod sa 2-major parties eh meron ding mga left wing, center at right wing parties. So, malabong magkaisa ang mga 'yan, peksman."
